Edgewater Cottages Wasaga Beach

First port of call - Visit Elsa and Ken who are about to become first-time parents at the end of December. We're very excited to meet our new grandchild, probably by Skype the first time, in late December. Our travels will take us to Florida, Texas, Arizona and Utah, with a possible trip to India in May to celebrate Eugenie's 50th. birthday.

... are out in Vancouver, so with them being so far away feels very strange and they will be even further after the weekend. Thank god for Skype and the internet. Although will have to drive a little to get signal at house as we are in the middle of the boonies! I can see myself camped out in the van with a flask of coffee and a blanket or two parked by the side of the road where i can get the nearest signal to wander ...

Am Abend stand dann noch packen und putzen auf dem Programm. Ein recht komisches Gefühl, denn in dieser langen Zeit haben wir doch unser Camper ins Herz geschlossen. Es war wirklich eine tolle Zeit!

Soon after checking in I phoned a couple of relatives to confirm our meeting the next morning. We were going to Aurora, Ontario, to visit my Grandma at a home for the elderly. The plan was that other relatives from the area would meet us there as well since we were so limited for time.

Despite a few cloudy/rainy moments, it was delightful. I believe I gorged myself to a new level, something I don't aspire to do again.

... us company as well so we stayed out for a couple of hours. We are used to kayaks and they feel so much more stable than canoes. Our inflatable kayak is no match for Lake Superior and the myriad lakes, rivers and waterfalls that cascade and flow into it. Fortunately they rent canoes in all the parks. We are in the land of outdoorsmen and we really stand out like naked people without fishing rods in hand.

I was supposed to do my BMQ training this summer, I only managed to get through the first 2 weeks. Kind of sucked though because if I could have made it to the end of the third week I probably would not have gone home.

This was my first attempt at basic, I was pumped to be there, but the reason I was sent home, was because I had a panic attack while doing the shuttle run and couldn't get to level 4. Now that just totally bummed my summer, I ended up going back home, and was put to work on the farm. That so was not what I thought my summer was going to look like.
