We spent over a week at Dream Village in May 2013, when we first visited and fell in love with the Gilli Islands. Our experience was entirely positive, so we did not hesitate to book again at Dream Village when our plans to return to Gilli Trawangan materialized in 2014. In fact, we were very much looking forward to seeing Angelo and Fabrizio, the owners, and their wonderfully efficient and very friendly staff. We were greeted as friends when we returned, and when we departed four days later, we left feeling more like we were leaving friends than simply a hotel. We requested and were lucky to have the same room we had preferred in the past - Room 111 on the second floor, although there are a number of bungalows in the lovely garden that are also quite satisfactory if that is your preference. The rooms were cleaned daily and meticulously as part of their regular service, and breakfast was always a pleasant, laid back experience to enjoy either in the beachfront restaurant, or while lounging in one of the gazebos for the entire morning, if you wished, as no one would ever suggest you move on. But if you did want to move just a few yards, you could grab one of the Dream Village beach chairs and take in the sun and snorkelling right in front of your guest house. This is island life on the Gillies, and Dream Village is a great spot from which to take it all in. We plan to return again next year, and Dream Village will be our home away from home once more if we do.

          Warm, Welcoming, Delightful Stay

It is difficult to determine what we liked the most about Dream Village. Certainly the location was excellent, being located a few steps away from the ocean, with beach front access. The rooms and huts - we stayed in both - were very spacious and meticulously clean, and equipped with ample storage space and in room safes. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient, always smiling, welcoming, and willing to accommodate our needs. We stayed for eight days, and every day our room was completely cleaned, including floor washing, without us ever having had to request this service. The garden area was also very well kept and provided a lovely tropical setting to enjoy from the balcony, which all rooms had. If there was any suggestion for improvement, it would be that the breakfast included with the room have a bit more variety. Otherwise, all was excellent.

We would definitely stay at Dream Village again.

She found one that she liked, and we both went for a full body massage. We were asked if it was ok if the masseurs were men. I said ok, and Caroline, who is not very particular about these things, said she was ok as well. Hahah .. an hour later, we were outside again. She ...

... s this exhausting! We stop only a few times for quick breathers before we arrive for a much needed hot soup with noodles lunch at around 1,600m, already experiencing significantly cooler air when in the shade, and intense heat in the direct sunlight. After an hour we carry on through the jungle, I am genuinely not sure by this point if I will make it to the crater rim at 2,600m, let alone the summit! We emerge from the forest as the incline somehow keeps increasing, and ...

... next door for dinner. All of the covered huts and seating were taken, but luckily a nice couple from Germany offered to share their hut with us. The poor girl had been waiting an hour and a half for her meal (her boyfriend had already eaten). So when they came to take our order she asked where her food was. Turns out they had brought it out to someone else. She proceed to wait another 45 minutes for her meal which was served just before ours. So lesson learned here is ...

A giant lunch of, as much rice as can dehydrate you, instant noodles with boiled egg garnish, followed by pineapple and a can of coke, was dished out at Pos 2. Tripadvisor talks of a hard climb and filthy national park. Pos 2 gave us our first evidence, but not as much as expected.
