Happy to Be Back at Dream Village Again!

We spent over a week at Dream Village in May 2013, when we first visited and fell in love with the Gilli Islands. Our experience was entirely positive, so we did not hesitate to book again at Dream Village when our plans to return to Gilli Trawangan materialized in 2014. In fact, we were very much looking forward to seeing Angelo and Fabrizio, the owners, and their wonderfully efficient and very friendly staff. We were greeted as friends when we returned, and when we departed four days later, we left feeling more like we were leaving friends than simply a hotel. We requested and were lucky to have the same room we had preferred in the past - Room 111 on the second floor, although there are a number of bungalows in the lovely garden that are also quite satisfactory if that is your preference. The rooms were cleaned daily and meticulously as part of their regular service, and breakfast was always a pleasant, laid back experience to enjoy either in the beachfront restaurant, or while lounging in one of the gazebos for the entire morning, if you wished, as no one would ever suggest you move on. But if you did want to move just a few yards, you could grab one of the Dream Village beach chairs and take in the sun and snorkelling right in front of your guest house. This is island life on the Gillies, and Dream Village is a great spot from which to take it all in. We plan to return again next year, and Dream Village will be our home away from home once more if we do.

      Warm, Welcoming, Delightful Stay

      Reviewed May 17, 2013

It is difficult to determine what we liked the most about Dream Village. Certainly the location was excellent, being located a few steps away from the ocean, with beach front access. The rooms and huts - we stayed in both - were very spacious and meticulously clean, and equipped with ample storage space and in room safes. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient, always smiling, welcoming, and willing to accommodate our needs. We stayed for eight days, and every day our room was completely cleaned, including floor washing, without us ever having had to request this service. The garden area was also very well kept and provided a lovely tropical setting to enjoy from the balcony, which all rooms had. If there was any suggestion for improvement, it would be that the breakfast included with the room have a bit more variety. Otherwise, all was excellent.

We would definitely stay at Dream Village again.

We fell in love with the Gilli Islands when we were first introduced to the largest of the three islands, Gilli Trawangan, last year, in May 2013, so it was always in our plans to return to the islands in our 2014 Adventure. This time, however, we decided to acquaint ourselves with another of the islands, Gilli Air. It is the second largest of the …

Well....that's another fear beaten thanks to Desiree. After a two day course in Free Diving with http://www.freedivegili.com/ I didn't manage to pass the Level One course, but I did manage to dive to 12m without a tank. And my reason for not passing was my floaty bum, not my fear of diving. To pass the course you have to be able to duck dive, IE, dive down unaided from the surface of the water and rescue someone at 10m. I'm sure I could have done the ...

... I wanted to really enjoy and take time to look at. However, Ezta had an idea up her sleeve for a good place to eat and we had built up quite an appetite so that was an even better alternative. She took us to a little street food stall on the side of the main road that was jam packed with locals: this tends to be a sign that the food will be decent and true to the local way of cooking. We had to wait for space on a bench to become free enjoying the spicy aromas. The food ...
