Happy to Be Back at Dream Village Again!

We spent over a week at Dream Village in May 2013, when we first visited and fell in love with the Gilli Islands. Our experience was entirely positive, so we did not hesitate to book again at Dream Village when our plans to return to Gilli Trawangan materialized in 2014. In fact, we were very much looking forward to seeing Angelo and Fabrizio, the owners, and their wonderfully efficient and very friendly staff. We were greeted as friends when we returned, and when we departed four days later, we left feeling more like we were leaving friends than simply a hotel. We requested and were lucky to have the same room we had preferred in the past - Room 111 on the second floor, although there are a number of bungalows in the lovely garden that are also quite satisfactory if that is your preference. The rooms were cleaned daily and meticulously as part of their regular service, and breakfast was always a pleasant, laid back experience to enjoy either in the beachfront restaurant, or while lounging in one of the gazebos for the entire morning, if you wished, as no one would ever suggest you move on. But if you did want to move just a few yards, you could grab one of the Dream Village beach chairs and take in the sun and snorkelling right in front of your guest house. This is island life on the Gillies, and Dream Village is a great spot from which to take it all in. We plan to return again next year, and Dream Village will be our home away from home once more if we do.

    Warm, Welcoming, Delightful Stay

It is difficult to determine what we liked the most about Dream Village. Certainly the location was excellent, being located a few steps away from the ocean, with beach front access. The rooms and huts - we stayed in both - were very spacious and meticulously clean, and equipped with ample storage space and in room safes. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient, always smiling, welcoming, and willing to accommodate our needs. We stayed for eight days, and every day our room was completely cleaned, including floor washing, without us ever having had to request this service. The garden area was also very well kept and provided a lovely tropical setting to enjoy from the balcony, which all rooms had. If there was any suggestion for improvement, it would be that the breakfast included with the room have a bit more variety. Otherwise, all was excellent.

We would definitely stay at Dream Village again.

Here we are, back on Gilli T after having tons of fun biking around the mellow and stunningly gorgeous beautiful shoreline of Kuta Lombok, fulfilling serious missions like where to find good surf and good restaurants. And of course, both of us getting a brief intro to the sport of surfing, for the first time ever, and also experiencing our first …

The girls didn’t wear rings or massive earrings to indicate they were now married, instead they had to have their teeth filed, which was massively painful, but tradition. The women from the traditional village had the kind of teeth horror movies are made of. Like Count Dracula’s vampire fangs on steroids. It didn’t help that they also ate fruit that stained their teeth red, so it looked ...

However, about ten minutes later, when we were still trekking around looking for accommodation, the winds began to howl, waves became huge and threatening, and we were often pelted by sand as we did the walkabout. This continued for about forty five minutes, during which several trees were ripped from the ground, roofs ripped from stalls, and we saw one boat nearby somewhat ...

I shared a more reasonably priced celebratory Bintang with the Estonians who'd made it down just fifteen minutes before we had. Rinjani is a hard climb that is not for everyone however it is sold to anyone with a pocket full of a Rupiah. The trash on the mountain will ultimately be enough to slow the tourist trail and that will hopefully be enough ...
