    We left Liege this morning at 10:30 and made excellent time through two locks and 35 km to Huy. On the way the beautiful Belgian scenery was spoiled by derelict industrial facilities beside the river-- very unimpressive for about 20km of the whole trip.     ... mountain goats in the cliff face opposite the river. no pool but the river is nice enough. We got to see stage 3 of Tour de France at Huy. Very nice little spot. Very authentic tavern on site, excellent for enjoying a drink while catching up on the re plays of he TDF! ...

    Boys Trip: Leave Brussels after breakfast and drive an hour to Eban-Emael (near Liege). This was the site of the Belgian frontier fort that was captured by the Germans in 1940. Extremely well preserved and an excellent guided tour. Then we drove through to the Ardennes 1944 Museum just outside Bastogne. The museum contained some nice exhibits and was well laid out.
