We Chased Sharks! It is True!

... spotted another Black Tip Reef SHARK! We both immediately got excited, gave the signal and chased this one as well. Melinda did well to get a photo of it as it was moving and we were swimming hard to keep up with it! It was trying to get away from us (unlike the first one) and it got shallower and closer to the beach (within 100m), changing direction regularly and in only 1m depth of water! Was way cool!

Between the fire heat and general country heat, we looked like we had been swimming. Not a good look. We retreated to the hotel. Done ...

... This was a lot nicer and you could see so much more. The water gets deep really quickly here so you don’t have to go too far (unlike in Koh Lanta where fifty metres out to sea and you were only up to your thighs!). In the afternoon we also took a walk in the south direction along the coast and found our way through some very swanky resorts (note the picture of the bungalows with ...

    Blue Keeps Floating

Ko Tao is described as Turtle Island, one of the main scuba diving destinations in the world, and "less touristy" than nearby islands.

Christel is a certified diver and wanted to explore the underworld. The rest of us were happy snorkeling for hours, effortlessly floating in the shades of blue, being surrounded by the schools of colorful fish in the warm Gulf of Thailand.
