... to a barbecue on the beach. Our resort is very busy so we walk along a few hundred yards to an alternative place with tables set out on the sand. I love it that the temperature of an evening is so warm here. We stop and choose from the fishy offerings laying in crushed ice. Shark, barracuda, huge mackerel (the size of my thigh) prawns, red snapper etc. John has barracuda and I have mackerel - not all of it you understand, just a ...

23rd November 2014 All was well with the journey, the occasional rocking but no seasickness, until it broke down for five minutes in the middle of the ocean. Whether this was scheduled or not I'm not sure as none of the staff panicked which is always a positive sign. We arrived in Koh Phangan with the rain just holding off and a two mile walk ahead of us - we considered a taxi but at a cost of £4 a walk was definitely the way to go. We made it about half way before negotiating ...

... scuba school at 8am sharp the next day. Having all dreamt of that exploding balloon we had learnt rule one of diving, never ever hold your breath because you will die basically. Our instructor was as you would expect, tanned, six pack, tattoos, wetsuit worn half down on the boat AND Italian...completely unfair for any girl trying to concentrate on her buoyancy control device and connecting her regulators to the right tank. The classroom stuff was a bit harder ...
