... a hill the sight of The Basilica is astounding. The whole town is perched on the side of the hill. An incredibly old town with skinny, windy roads. The hotel is fabulous with great views from the room and public areas out side, down across the valley below. ... a self serve buffet type place which she wanted to return to so we walked back up the hill to find it. Less than appealing unless you wanted a large lunch. I had a couple of vegetables, a small potato thing and another small unknown item. It was good nonetheless and cheap at only 3 E. ... now emphatically said 1 East 400metres down and behind track 1 where we were. Off we hustled as it was now past the scheduled departure. As luck would have it the train was 5 minutes late departing so we made it but barely! It is warm and humid and we were both exhausted and drenched . ... br> Between the thermal pools, salt bath, essential oil infused showers, mud bath, and saunas, I was completely and utterly relaxed 3 hours later. A few of us capped of the visit with a spritz (an Italian cocktail), and then we boarded the bus for the two hour trip back to Rome.

This was the perfect day excursion out of the city...I made a few new friends, ate a lovely meal, and laughed my way through the whole trip!
