... of the churches around Assisi but couldn't get to all of them. Maybe someday we'll return and spend a longer time with St. Francis. Being that is was Sunday, Kirk asked us to spend time at each church, reflecting and not rushing off to see the next one. Looking back, I'm not sure we did as good a job as we could have.

... mosaics, which took almost 300 years to build. Even the detailed stone paving leading up to the steps indicates that one is approaching a special place. The interior is decorated with Luca Signorelli's frescoes, created from 1499-1504 including his famous depiction of the Last Judgment. The Duomo complex includes several additional museums which we plan to visit tomorrow, so we are back to our B&B to get ready for our trip outside of town for wine tasting.
