    ... and nibbled.

    Dinner was planned for the China Buffet within walking distance of the hotel. We sat with Pete and Darlene and enjoyed exchanging Road Scholar stories. The food was pretty good and there was certainly plenty of it but we were careful not to overeat. (We learned our lesson at Harrah's a few days before.)

    It was a fairly early bed time. Long day on the bus and we were tired!

    ... but not as big in circumference. Their pinecones are the size of an olive! The Coast Redwood is the tallest tree in the whole world, looming up to 300 or more feet. And while they aren't as big around as the Giants, they are big around! We tried hugging one with our three pairs of arms outstretched, fingertips touching, and figured that tree was about 35 feet in circumference. I'd say that's pretty big!

    Today we spent the day visiting Redwood NP & Prairie Creek NP walking amongst the giants.

    We stopped at Kuchel Visitors Centre and saw a herd of Elk, big bucks and little calf's we took lots of photos. We set of to Lady Bird Johnson Grove and amongst the giant redwoods trees, some of these ancient trees are over a thousand years old. Redwood trees rebirth themselves ...
