We had started the trip to Watkins Glen from Edison in New Jersey in the morning hours of July 25th. Having set the paths on the GPS the route we decided on was through Scranton and Binghamton.
When we reached, the GPS took us to the upper entrance of the Park. The Park has three places that one can enter from, the Upper Entrance, the South Entrance and the Main Entrance.

... PM and stayed a little over 2 hrs. You can swim in the pool at the base of the falls there but swimming was closed that day due to poor water quality. We took the Gorge Trail from the base of Buttermilk Falls up alongside the falls and up a ton of steps. After that initial climb the trail leveled off quite a bit and there were several smaller falls and winding, carved out gorge walls, very similar to Watkins Glen.

There was a marine and kayak rental operation, a big park with lots of people feeding ducks, biking and walking their dogs.
