... for the day.We were driving through vast stretches of rolling green hills, with cows dotted across them. The rocky mountains could be seen in the distance. As dusk fell, the golden sunlight rendered the whole landscape a magical breathtaking glow. ... left Sheridan, which was quite a relief, as the temp had climbed to 88 F. Entered Montana in pouring  rain. Spent a fascinating 2 hours at Little Big Horn Battlefield. Had dinner @ the Indian Trading Post, outside the national park, and we're camped in a private ranch camping ground at Garryowen, 7 miles from Little Big Horn. ... on the hill top, and deer seemed to be everywhere. I continued to bump along the rocky, dirt road in search of my bison. All I saw were more deer. Eventually I came to a large herd of buffalo, but they were not very close either. I sat watching them in the distance, then continued onward. I did happen to see a decent herd of antelope right on the road! There were about 20 females and one male grazing and laying in the wet grasses. At this point, I decided ...
