    Finally ...let the wine tasting begin!!

    ... beautiful and scenic but slightly more commercial and the wine was nowhere near as good as Rombauer. We were about to give up hope when the last wine they served us was delicious... so again, we couldn't help ourselves and bought 3 bottles of it!

    Off to the next campsite we headed to Alexander Valley and are now parked up ready for some more wine tasting tomorrow, this time in the Sonoma Valley.

    First stop Anderson's in Conn Valley St. Helena. This is a real gem of a place and well worth a stop if you are coming to Napa. It has a great micro climate lots of sunshine it is nestled in the valley protected from the fog, perhaps climate for great Cab grape growing. We were met by the marketing director and a group of 8 were taken to their storage caves for the tasting, we sampled their whites all they way ...

    ... get tires for $25 a pop---$100 for whole vehicle. I actually had intended to get new tires once we got to Oregon since they don't have sales tax, BUT that idea went out the window with the appearance of the little bubbles routine.     ... hour and a half to Calistoga, where our hotel is located. The countryside seems very familiar, and looks just like the Swan Valley; lots of little wineries and fields of grapevines.

    We arrived without incident, and I managed with the driving quite well, and got more confident as we went on. It's quite disorientating, sitting on the wrong side of the vehicle, and trying to remember which side of the road ...

    ... especially during rush hour in the morning (between 6am – 9am). But most cars exit at Hollywood so it gets better after that. On the way, we got to drive around mountains and saw this awesome desert and (more) mountainous landscape surrounding the highway. Midway, there’s a canal of turquoise water contrasted with the yellow sandy landscape (or green plantations) – it feels almost like photoshopped scenery.
