Day 54 - A taste of Buenos Aires...

... the hustle and bustle of young and old enjoying the food and drink for a half hour or so. The entire time, not a single police officer was to be seen. It didn't however, feel unsafe. I could've spent all day soaking up the atmosphere, but large droplets of rain were beginning to replace the scorching heat.

Back at the hostel, Ghen spotted one of her teammates from the military (bare awks cos Ghen was actually her reporting officer while in the army) and ...

56. Buenos Aires and Rosario

A travel blog entry by kesvic2013 on Apr 25, 2014

... Next stop was Rosario, about 4 hours from BA. Our hostel was filled with a permanent cloud of marijuana fog so we chose to go out and climb the monument to the Argentinian flag and visit the park. all through the next day courtesy of Emily’s sleeping pills to 4 pm in the
afternoon, great first day. Eye mask and ...

The main event for the day was a tour of the estancia (~2,000 acres of fields) and one of the three "tambos" or milking sheds. Mary had really been anticipating the tour for the opportunity for birding and adding a few new birds to her life list.

Marianne's son Santiago runs the dairy operation for the three family members as a separate corporation and he is the head of the dairymen's association of Argentina. He ...

Drive to Tandil

A travel blog entry by pnbooth on Nov 12, 2013

The drive to Tandil was pretty uneventful and not too scary. Chichita's friend Marianne Padilla is US born and educated and was married to one of Argentina's most prominent transactional attorneys, so Mary and I would spend a couple of days with these two bawdy babes listening to amazing stories of business and love shena****ns among the elite of the anglo and anglo Argentine communities in the 60s through the 80s. It was really ...
