... at the top this time of year is around 41 degrees F but it didn't feel that cold today. Apparently, this mountain only ranks 31 in the list of highest peaks in Colorado but it's more accessible. We barely had enough time to eat lunch in the snack bar when it was time for our group to head back down in the train. Good thing we looked around yesterday when we were up there. Taking a sandwich with you on this excursion might not be a bad ...

We had a great trip with a total of 2575 miles drive. It is not a bad two day drive to South Padre. Will be doing it again, but not sure ...

... freezing! So we got a few pictures and I spent the rest of the time sitting down in the gift shop/cafe. In spite of that, it was an experience not to be missed. I swear you feel like you are on top of the world. At over 14,000 feet, you are pretty close to the top of the world, and definitely the highest point as far as you can see! In case any of you don't know (I didn't before this trip), the woman who wrote ...

... we walked down by the stream and found a table. I was surprised they were serving the entire menu so early. But apparently they begin doing so at 10:00. Shortly after we sat down, the other tables by the stream filled up. We began our lunch with some roasted garlic. It was served with some fancy crackers and a spiced oil mixture. It was fresh out of the oven. It really had a good taste. For lunch Leslie and I both had a Reuben ...
