... so that we could stop and explore. We spent 6 wonderful hours on the mountain. Pike's Peak elevation is 14,110! The wind chill was 29 at the summit. Randy, Rascal, and I played around on the trail at the summit and another area above the tree line (alpine.) the elevation was a little rough on Mom and Jeff until we got back down to 10,000 feet above sea level. ...
... From white landscape to brown. We arrive in Colorado Springs at 6:00. Stopped at Hacienda to give Rod some business. He didn't need any,as their was a wait line. Upstairs was open setting so we went up. There were a few open seats. Happy to see the place is busy.
We had a great trip with a total of 2575 miles drive. It is not a bad two day drive to South Padre. Will be doing it again, but not sure ...
