Day 13 - The day we truly almost died.

... of our boat trip, I would still highly recommend renting a boat to see the coastline. It was a lot of fun to make our own decisions on where to stop for lunch, and when to swim, etc. Two very important lessons are to check the boat very carefully to ensure everything is in working order (i.e. the anchor), and to make sure you have a plan if the water gets too choppy. I think we should have turned around and left the boat at Capri and taken the Ferry back to Sorrento.

... were craving gelato (as usual) so we found a place in our piazza that we all agreed had the best gelato of all the places we have tried so far! Marco got cocco and duplo, Paolo got cookies and duplo, Olivia got menta e nutella, and Selena got straciatella and caffe (sorry we don't have pics!!). After dessert, we went to bed early (around 1130) because we have an early morning breakfast/drive to Paestum tomorrow!

Everyone hauled out their portable electronic device, and the waiter entered the access code. After lunch I shopped for postcards and then we headed back to the meeting point. We drove to Pompeii, which we were all surprised to find was right ...

Pompeii- The end is here

... an episode of Spongebob once, where Patrick the Starfish wore meat around him and tried to defeat the lionfish at the coliseum- she said she knew all about what happens at these places. I can’t believe that that was the first and last educational thing we learned all day.)*
As we continued our walk, we reached the “ghost town” of Pompeii…We continued on that path only to see the same thing over and over again. With no direction or assistance ...
