Hatchett Bay calls itself the Bahamas' most protected harbour.... Well isn't that kind of ironic?!?Mother Nature took out her frustrations on the only other boat in the harbour. Protected from wind and waves...yes. From lightning? Nope.

Governor's Harbour was the prettiest and most picturesque harbour we've been to thus far.
We also were very happy to find a sports bar with satellite TV so that we could watch the World Cup. Bahamian cable was blocking the games - making them pay-per-view only.
We were in Rock Sound for the fireworks and celebrations. Interestingly enough, the party begins the night before so that they can have fireworks at midnight to welcome the 10th of July right from the start!

Bad wifi...the fact that I got pics uploaded is impressive!!! ...

We brought laundry into town first thing in the morning and had breakfast and freshly brewed, strong, coffee (that's a treat!) at a restaurant a few doors down while waiting for the cycles to finish. (BTW, the laundromat here is wonderful. Clean, spacious...and the driers fully dried all three of my loads. Impressive!) The interior of the boat has had a thorough tidying and cleaning. Wes looked a lot like Thurston Howell III … just uncanny. So really he and Debbie, aka “Luvvie” (as per Gilligan’s Island), were a perfect match for each other.
Thurston, aka Wes, had been to Australia during the Vietnam war and knew and flew with Aussie pilots in the army.
