More of PEI in the rain

A travel blog entry by kkgreen on Aug 15, 2014

Headed out in the rain at 10:30 after a light breakfast, heading east this time. Our first stop was in Cavendish where it is quite commercialized. There are lots of campgrounds, amusement parks, the Avonlea tourist attraction and of course, shops! Shops were busy because all the campers didn't have anything else to do, but shop. At least Debbie finished her souvenir shopping, she was very happy. As we headed towards the National ...

    Discovering PEI

Today was a sleep in (at least for me) and big breakfast day. I've been carrying around a ripened banana for more pancakes and finally we got to make them, along with bacon, eggs, and toast. So I slept in this morning as I didn't need to be off the boat early, I even pre ordered room service for my breakfast :) and some of it I packed for my lunch. Fresh fruit and granola from breakfast, English muffin with ham and a chocolate muffin for lunch. Apple for snack. I got a tender to the shore about 10:15, once onshore I got a map, planned my morning then check my emails. ...

... like head...could it have been a northern harrier?....we really thought so but we never quite got close enough to confirm it for sure. We didnt spot anymore wildlife for the remainder of the walk which was fine, we were satisfied with our snowshoe hare and a potential bird of prey sighting. It was late afternoon but too early to return to Charlottetown and definately too early to eat (although im sure Ro would have disagreed since he wants to eat all the time) so we decided to ...

... or not to go for a bike ride too, but once again my thinking wasted a day and resulted in nothing but self-pity and stiff hips.

Wednesday was an altogether better day, as not only did I force myself out of the house by going into town with Jessy and Leighton at seven whilst they went to work, but I enjoyed some fish and chips in the British pub Churchill’s where we’d had curry a few weeks ago. From an agoraphobic fool yesterday ...
