More of PEI in the rain

A travel blog entry by kkgreen on Aug 15, 2014

Headed out in the rain at 10:30 after a light breakfast, heading east this time. Our first stop was in Cavendish where it is quite commercialized. There are lots of campgrounds, amusement parks, the Avonlea tourist attraction and of course, shops! Shops were busy because all the campers didn't have anything else to do, but shop. At least Debbie finished her souvenir shopping, she was very happy. As we headed towards the National ...

      Discovering PEI

A travel blog entry by kkgreen on Aug 14, 2014

Today was a sleep in (at least for me) and big breakfast day. I've been carrying around a ripened banana for more pancakes and finally we got to make them, along with bacon, eggs, and toast. By the time that was all eaten and cleaned up it was almost 11. The day was starting to clear up, the forecast was 30% rain, but it was clearing rather than getting cloudy. Interestingly when we were traveling on the interior roads ...

      ... We should be alright.

So bags are checked through to Phuket...boarding passes and seat assignments look good. There are four more airports we will have to pass through before we get to our hotel room.....four more airports and 11 time zones. The journey started in fine style with a quick hop to Halifax in a beechcraft 1900 commuter plane....only 18 seats and a clear view into the cockpit....the smallest plane we will be on by a long ...

... that he won in a packet of crisps, although of course he referred to a bag of chips; as he relayed his story of visiting the palaces in 1981 and how he couldn’t believe it was twenty years since the trip, I sheepishly reminded him it was in fact thirty years ago. His toothless face looked a little shocked as he realised ten years has disappeared somewhere, and I wondered whether it was just an innocent mistake, or he’d Irish-ed up his Tim Hortons coffee ...

      Returning to Beach house

A travel blog entry by banshee on Jul 18, 2011

I left at 9am this morning, arrived at 7:30pm, which was earlier than expected, nevertheless tireing. I decided to drive around Stratford, especially into the nice subdivision of luxurious houses. Quite a few are for sale, which I looked up MLS; heavy price tag attached, anywhere between $350~$450k's. I should be looking for a husband~doctor instead of a house....
I drive then to the grocery so I can cook up something for tonight. Found food, but no future husband....
