Day 1: 24th December
As we woke up on the 24th, we were really looking forward to the trip. The past few weeks had been really hectic with all things like the job, moving, countless shopping sprees leaving us exhausted and we were in dire need of a BREAK!
We decided to leave early to get the maximum out of this vacation. To give some background, we had booked a lavish guest house overlooking the ...
... was actually a lemon. He put his hat on a marble and asked how many were under, then we kept getting it wrong - classic sleight of hand, I sat there thinking " I know what you're doing, fool!". Till he lifted his hat and there was a coconut under it. What the hell?! I realized all my sleight of hand moves and tricks suddenly became kindergarten.
We walked back down Santa Monica pier and ended ...
... picked up by the sniffer dogs at the airport just from secondary smoke. It is a fabulous boardwalk and a wide flat beach, the centre of sun filled activities - hundreds of volleyball courts, as well as some weird game like tennis/squash/pingpong, lots of skating, bike riding and roller blading - the mecca of fun in the sun. After a stroll up and down the boardwalk, a squizz at muscle beach and watching in awe ...
... that Steven Spielburg bought an actual plane and destroyed it for the movie, only for it to be seen for about 40secs on film. Also costing millions of dollars! We then headed back up to the main park and headed for the Simpsons ride. And as many of you know, Shane and I were in our element! This ride is seriously incredible! Another simulator, but you're basically trying to escape from Side Show Bob! On a rollercoaster...it's just awesomeness! So much ...
... the evening, having a light dinner and watching the very scary, Jurassic Park.
Housekeeping came by for a turndown service. When she saw Mac she said, "You're son is so handsome, what a good-looking boy!" Mac said thanks, blushing.
