After 7 days of Rose doing the blog it is my turn so I apologize in advance for my typing. Our next stop was Tenerife, the Canary Islands. Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands at about 800 square miles. It is called the "island of eternal spring " because of its superb climate. Today did not dissapoint with highs in the mid 70's. Perfect touring weather. While Tenerife has a wide variety of scenery...a mountain chain, a crater, interesting ...

    The Great Escape

For our last evening we had a little stroll around the village and Jayne bought some knick knackeries for the folks back home. As the local scran hadn't come up to scratch we decided on some Chinese food. We ended up in an authentic restaurant called Hong Kong 97, strange name but there you go. The last couple of days have flown by, the weather has been quite changeable. The sea has one day been like a mill pond and then a boiling cauldron the next. Some mornings have been black and overcast and others with bright sunshine, one constant has been monsoon like rain storms in the evenings, apparently this is a bit of a rarity and has caused great excitement for the locals. One such downpour occurred last night and it was like the ...

    Tenerife by Tram

A travel blog entry by marcusjcollins on Oct 16, 2015

Arrived in Teneriffe at 7am. Still pitch black and raining. However we were ashore and in the city by 9am and the skies brightened into a lovely warm day. After walking round for a while to see the sights we found that there was a tram that took a 45 minute ride up high into the hills. This gave us some great views of both the city, the coast and the mountains behind including in the distance the volcano at Tiede. The other end of the tram line ...
