Beach Number 3 Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India, +91-3192-236008
... lovely trees. The water is turquoise blue and green and whatever shades are there of them and the beach is an ideal place for watching a lovely sunrise and sunset. A person roams about with an elephant and gives a ride for a fee. Though autos are visible on the road, its advisable to hire a scooter and roam around since it gives much more freedom to explore the island rather than limiting travel to one or two places. Because the island is beautiful with verdant greenery all around. And ...
Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India ericetmanu... understanding what we were ordering- these are our favorites because they still go out of their way to give you tons of yummy food and make you happy and don't overcharge you. There are two main roads that most visitors to Havelock use; the road the majority of guesthouses and dive shops are on and the road to Beach 7. Our side of the island saw the sunrise (which despite our best attempts we never got up to see) which meant the sun always set a little early at ...
Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India carrienica05... there's every chance you won't get on the boat. We morons knew about the queue problem so were there at dawn. Our boredom was alleviated by watching this very sweet pup trotting about. . . . . The ferry was barely a third full. We think this may be down to the system at the ticket counter being unable to sell enough tickets before the boat sails. Back in Port Blair we've been enjoying the delights of concerte floors ...
Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India moronsontour... constantly having power cuts. And then there is the fish" "What?!" I spluttered. "Surely the fish can't be criticized. We are on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean, fishing is one of the main industries, the place is famous for having amazing seafood!" "You are wrong" he replied. "The best fish is pond fish. Everybody knows this. You go to Bengal, you will see." There are some people you just can't please. Fleas. Sadly for Indian dogs ...
Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India moronsontour... please god, let it be so! eventually another woman comes out with another sheaf and this time i'm prepared. knowing the indian love of "baksheesh" or tipping i tuck a 100 rupee note in my palm and discreetly wave it towards the woman. she looks at me like i have lost my mind. oh god, i just tried to bribe a public official! luckily she gave me the paper anyway and didn't take the bribe, shaking her head ...
Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India horizon_chaser... in the fifteenth century because it is believed that they stayed within sight of land, and you just can't do that and get from Southeast Asia to India via that archipelago. He wasn't shocked because I knew where they were, but because he didn't. Just my kind of place. Oh yeah, and I heard they had good diving. So when my best friend, the gracious Esquire, was looking for somewhere to go on winter vacation, I told him he ought to think about these islands I'd heard about where you ...
Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India ninedeuce... Any worries were quickly dissipated when we saw the much awaited ferry roll into the jetty. It was a "Hulk" of a machine and calling it ferry was actually quite demeaning to the lovely ship. It was clean, orderly (there were seat nos on tickets..wow..if only this could be the case with mumbai locals too) and we were very impressed with it. However, the best part of the ship was the deck which allowed one to laze in the warm and salty breeze with only the blue waters ...
Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India garima.bansal... in 1960 and was resettled in Havelock under the rehabilitation programme of Indian government. Tarak proudly informed that Bengali resettlers in Havelock reaped great harvests from the fertile land – the income from the betel nuts, coconuts & paddy harvested annually was enough deterrent for them to seek any job as such! He readily invited us to visit his village in Havelock.

We reached Havelock at about 9.30 in the morning. Havelock Island, located 54 Kms ...
Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India soumitra.biswas... not at all like survivalists. The fish were tossed directly onto the fire, which by now was raging, where they hissed and bubbled for a few minutes before being served up on palm leaves.

After we had eaten the fish we went down to the shore in the dying light and threw some lines into the sea. Anjay caught another fish, which was duly gutted and cooked and then it was dark. We sat around the campfire for a while chatting, but the heat of the day had fatigued us and by ...
