... br> You saw a picture of the Big Nickel in yesterday's blog, which I'm sure you identified as being in Sudbury. However among the pictures from today is another oversize coin. Any idea it's association with this part of Canada?

I had an excellent day for touring around St. Joseph Island and the mainland around that part of the world. Sunny for the most part and cooler than it has been, which is just ...

So, today was an uneventful drive from Sturgeon Falls to the KOA just north of Sault Ste Marie. Uneventful in the good sense; nothing untoward happened.

That's the scoop for today, hoping for less rain tomorrow as we venture through ...

Reluctantly left Ottawa, Nat and the Joliet neigborhood, and headed for Sault Ste Marie and beyond...Very hot, so we stopped for a picnic lunch on a hill above Lake Nipissing. Much to our surprise a monarch butterfly fluttered into view having just crossed La They have been seldom seen this year here it seems, so hopefully more will follow. The hillside was covered with ...

    My missed swimming opportunity

A travel blog entry by jackdrury on Jul 15, 2013

We stayed in miserable little motel at a place called Goulais River, just west of Sault Ste. Marie. There was a little bay nearby - in Lake Superior - where Elenka went for a swim. It would be our only opportunity to get in the big lake. There was little access in towns along the north of Superior and when got to Minnesota, the waters, because of the openness, were just too cold.

    For the record only:
