Long dreary drive to Falmouth and then great cycle ride and home for a lovely sunset.

... just kept explaining the we were from the UK which seemed to satisfy our audience.

Dried off, did a bit of long jump and then sat up in the Life guard's chair- it was about 6pm and all the lifeguards had left. The sun was cooling off but the wind was still up. As it happened the hollow tubes at the back of the elevated chair we were all crushed into kept catching the breeze and playing different notes- a really unexpectedly magic moment.

Headed home a bit windswept.

... American tribe the lighthouse will be lost. I arrived back at Oak Bluffs just in time to catch the 2:15pm ferry back to the mainland. In the late afternoon we drove to Provincetown. Provincetown, located near the very tip of Cape Cod is often called "P-town". The town is known for its beaches, harbour, artists, tourist industry and gay community. Woke up to a blistering hot sun and a cooling breeze. Explored the basement and found deck chairs, beach umbrella and a purple inflatable so headed for the beach at the end of the road- took the car for ease of kit transport.

Fairly eventful as breeze at our house equates to gale on the beach. Lost deck chair, inflatable and wrap up the beach. In the end realised everyone else was land anchoring kit. Ruth had first shark bite- well ok she fell on an underwater rock that had ...

... watching ferry boat tours pull in and -out for a bit. We also walked through the Quincey Market which was a neat area of outdoor bars, kiosks, and restaurants…I bought some Boston shades, because I left my last pair on a sea shore in Maine somewhere (I swear I lose or break a pair of sunglasses every week on these travels we do-that’s why I buy cheapies).
