Our Cape Cod experience is quite different to Cape May. While we have bikes available to us we can't cycle as the roads are narrow - no footpaths and no cycle lanes. There are bike trails around the Cape but we can't transport them in our rental car.
We can walk to 2 golf courses, can fish in the pond below our house but must tour by car. We found a really good natural history museum and a walk through ...
After that tour, we were going to drive at least half way to Cape Cod, but we discovered that Shanksville, PA was not far from our route, so we all stopped to see the Flight 93 crash site. We arrived to a hubbub of activity, television trucks and camera crews and lots of people all in attendance to launch, in anticipation of the 14th anniversary of 9-11, the new Visitors Center at the Flight ...

The next morning we headed right back onto the road. Instead of taking the main highway we took the Kings highway which goes through all the old Colonial homes and towns that run along the inner part of Cape Cod. We drove to Wellfleet which just so happened to be having their annual Oysterfest that day. We parked at the beach and a free shuttle bus took us into town. Chris and I are both not really oyster people but seeing as this was an oysterfest we each got a nice big fresh oyster ...
