... it didn't feel fun at all to be packing up our bags and handing them over to be stored for the day, but alas! his is the nature of travel and Chiang Mai is one place we will most definitely be making it back to.

We spent most of the day lounging around and drinking coffee, I still can't get over how good the coffee is up her and wished that I had of picked up a bag, although we are ...
Tak, Thailand bass_ke... back to Thailand!

My emotions of the next few days were abit of a rollercoaster to say the least. There was the physicality of being back in Thailand, the heat, the smells, the kind of free ranger style of Thailand, the tourists who soo thrive in the glory of all that is Thailand. Basically you soon realise that once again Bangkok is an assault on your senses in every possible way. But the other side was a personal one which went something like this '**** what am ...
Tak, Tak, Thailand oniburger... thought that 7eleven could only be found on a random street corner in New Jersey you were dead wrong. 7eleven has become our American embassy, providing us with the closest similarities to sustenance (i.e. junk food). They do, however, carry a variety of weird, bizarre and somewhat disgusting/inedible things, but I'll save that for a tad bit later. So, the "Super Friends," as we like to call ourselves, had reunited and it was fantastic. Yeah, we all have nicknames. Collin is known as ...

Thailand, Thailand mja1906... it OK to drive - but you just have to be so alert. Debbie and I have been sharing the driving. And we sing along to some cheap CD's as they play over and over and over. We drove to a small town called Tak where we planned to just stay overnight and continue on our way the next day. We got there around 4pm and went for a wander through the town and found it to be quite a charming little town. In the end, we decided ...
Tak, Tak, Thailand lisa_nz... the end, really start looking out for signs of the destination (: Day of solitude, contemplation, resurfacing things troubing my heart. Thanks to cell phone, made reservation at guest house recommended by Lonely Planet from last guesthouse. still looking for current version for Thailand. Great help! Mine is Southeast Asia, brief overviews of countries. On the way...first 3/4 of journey ...
Sukothai, Thailand julix... it. We were quite exhausted on the bus ride back, but that did not stop us from our customery cards at night. We have become quite accustomed to the games, and also for us to be always winning. We should at some point thank Mom and Ela for letting us win, cuz it is not possible we keep winning without their help, ... is it? :)
Sukhothai, Thailand mrewkowski... a few of the ones that live in our house, but they're doing a lousy job at regulating the mosquito population. The mosquitos here are tenacious little stealth ninjas, and they carry some nasty diseases. I put aside any notions of Buddhism and buy an electric flyswatter, which looks like a tennis racket. Before bed I stalk the house zapping the suckers with a satisfying pop. These days, most of my time in Mae Sot is spent at the computer. It's a little ...
Mae Sot, Thailand jackchance... and navigate the steep and narrow trails along the perimeter. A group of kids are riding flattened pieces of bamboo down a dirt gully, crashing with glee and getting up and doing it again. They call it skiing. We walk on, surprising residents who probably never see foreigners this high above the camp. They wash their clothes, tend to rooftop gardens, and send their kids off to the nearest school. There are several churches and Buddhist temples throughout ...
Mae La, Thailand jackchance... basic computer skills on about twelve McGyver'd machines. He also helps keep the camp radio station running, with his sister (my student) being the chief audio editor of the weekly broadcasts. The station consists of a shoddy stereo (the cd tray doesn't work, so you place the disc directly over the laser), a car battery, a small mixing board, two karaoke-quality microphones, and a homemade FM transmitter. It gets shut down from time to time, since the Thai government is very much ...
