... day, this being a tricky matter for me as I invariably feel I should be doing something more productive. For me, even our World tour is a project with a mission to observe, learn and continue piecing the World together, whilst on the move. Cynthia drove us over to Sunbury and we met up with Kerry, another of Heather's colleagues from her years working in Australia. We ate dinner and made acquaintances with Kerry and Paul plus their daughter Gabby's pet birds which ...

... station where you could stand right next to the koala and snap a pic. The koala was very soft and docile. In addition to the wallabies and koalas, we also saw wombats (which were about the size of a large pig but looked like a teddy bear/rat), kangaroos, Tasmanian devils (very energetic but a bit ugly), dingos (including two little female pups!), quakkas, crocs, eagles, ostriches and emu, in addition to a wide variety of birds and reptiles. It was a neat adventure and ...

WARNING - THIS IS A LONG ONE. MIGHT NEED TO MAKE YOURSELF A CUPPA

I had chosen a route from Port Fairy to Young that took in a lot of small country towns, along country roads. Not the quickest way, but I hoped more picturesque, bypassing highways and freeways.
It proved a good choice. Not only were the roads very quiet, they were as usual very well maintained, so that being no posted speed limits I could sit comfortably on 120+ km/h.
      It was a perfect ...
