Great Holiday Park but more Rain !!
Yet another nice warm, blue sky day after a night shower, we drove the short drive back to Ballina (on our way down) and the kids spent an hour at the Skate Park on their scooters. We really like Ballina and would like to spend more time there but had to move on a little further. We then headed onto Yamba and parked at the Blue Dolphin Tourist Park …
Yamba: a hidden gem
Yamba was not somewhere I had planned on visiting, honestly I didn't even know it existed! Whilst in Port Macquarie a backpacker mentioned I should stop off in Yamba on my way to Byron Bay, so I took her advice and am still happily living in Yamba two months on. Not only is it one of the best spots for surfing on the east coast along with its eleven beaches but it is all round an amazing place to chill out, meet some awesome people and work to earn a bit of cash ...
Iluka a great hidden fishing village

The seafood is fresh and priced well at the fishing co-op down by the mouth of the river. The trawlers work at night and sell the product the next day through the shop so it is basically straight out of the river when you buy it.
