      ... and hence the title of this blog, but obviously I've used a little poetic license! Yet another night of fireworks with 40,000 people on the waterfront enjoying the symphonic orchestra. Music was wonderful of course, but once the sun goes down, it gets quite cold, so we headed home. Lyal has a cold, so feeling a bit miserable.       The final comment was about the dogs. Amundsen donated a number of his remaining dogs to another Antarctic expedition which was going from Australia. A number of the British dogs were adopted in New Zealand, including one by the Mayor of Christchurch.

      We spent less time in the rest of the museum as we had been so engrossed that time had escaped on us. We enjoyed the woolly mammoth and the natural history section which reminded us of places ...

      ... You can have a nice high tea there for about $80:00 so we gave that a miss. Walked along the jetty where the cruise boats to Alaska leave from. Walked through wharf area, watched some people doing crafts painting etc. one guy was doing painting with spray cans, absolutely amazing pictures. About to go the lecture ...
