You just can't beat coming home to your own cottage after a long day hiking in the hills. Sitting on your private deck, sipping wine while you dinner sizzles on the grill. Did I mention the awesome shower?? Truly a pleasureable way to spend the week and the hosts were as welcoming as could be!

Day 12 On our way to Queenstown, we stopped off in Arrowtown. It is one of the best preserved gold mining towns in the area. The main tree lined street has a number of old style colonial shop fronts and buildings. ... UK, on searching places to visit roundabout Queenstown, Milford Sound always came up top. On further investigation there were also a fair amount of favourable comments on Doubtful Sound. We checked with Charlotte at our hotel and she said that almost everyone wanted to go to Milford Sound, but her favourite was Doubtful Sound. We were well and truly sold as her description of the day sounded amazing. It was an early start and a very long day, but ...

After the adrenalin rush passed we continued on our way to our camp site on Crooked Arm ! As we set up camp the SANDFLYS (cousin to our blackflies) started to EAT us!! They are vicious and it seemed as if there were thousands of them. Sim and Nicola were busy setting up our large screened in eating and sitting tent and now we knew why. These pesky beasts don't hurt when they bite, but leave ...
