    ... the flames.

The Wild West to be sure.

I have found a new love with the Dairy Queen menu. Not Dairy Queen herself, no that saucy tart’s been around me for years; these things called cheese curds are magnificent. I used to think they were like sugary cheese cake bites from Sonic, but no. They’re wonderful in their salty-ness. There’s also a restaurant in town called the Pita Pit; everything looks good from ...

... on a hill overlooking a lake that seemed to be a reservoir. After our supper we walked down to the water and Jon and I had a swim. Unfortunately, when we got back to our campsite we discovered that our fridge wasn't working. A really relaxing day today. After breakfast we walked over to the fairground to watch the "slack" which is where all contenders vie for a place in the top 10 so that they can compete in the evening show. We sat in the cool of the grandstand pretty much all alone and enjoyed the show. All done by around 11 so we wandered back into town to poke around the shops. There was an interesting second hand clothing ...

Short day travel to Twin Bridges

A short day on the bike today, a lazy ride north from Victor through Ashton with a drive in Diner called Frosttop that has been going the same amount of time that Tim has. Then we had a pretty dry but scenic ride up to Ennis (not with a silent P). We rode through a ghost town of Nevada City and arrived in Twin Bridges. Twin Bridges had their first tornado in over 100 years touch down a few weeks ago, ...
