    ... was a bit secluded for us.

    We try to avoid the areas where people stay out all night, but it is nice to have some nightlife and a few options to choose from in terms of restaurants and bars. Plus not being able to swim was a bit of a downer. Overall, I'd say we liked Koh Samui better. We're heading back there for a bit before we go to the islands west of the mainland.

    Since I last wrote, I've experienced so many different sides of Thailand that it's almost as if I've been traveling multiple completely different countries. Way up north I ended up staying a little over one week in Pai - about three hours north west of Chiang Mai. Pai is a tiny tiny town, existing of only a few streets, up in the Thai mountains.     ... with it. A few people managed to, but we were not that lucky. Although we did get a good sighting of the whale shark from the boat. We were thrilled.

    The island is quite small and we used the scooter to get around and see a bit of it. We spent some time on the other stunning beaches, did some snorkelling and then some more relaxing. The sunsets were gorgeous, providing many photo opportunities.
