... actually only lunchtime! We had some great food at the Beechworth bakery (which is busy for a reason!) and wrote back to the caravan park to shower and change via the information centre. Unfortunately, the 'peddle to produce' program I'd read about a few months ago is on a temporary hiatus as they revamp it and print new brochures, but the information centre lady told us a little about it for when it is back up and running, and gave us suggestions on places we could ...
Beechworth, Victoria, Australia cheli... police occured.
We then spent a few hours at Beechworth, an historic little town which still has an operating telegraph station. We went on a scenic drive along the gorge (which was quite narrow with our big bus!)
After we headed down to the town of Bright and then into Mount Beauty, stopping at the overlooks of the town.
... fight. We all ganged up on Renee which was fun. We than went back down the mountain. Still the visibility was ****, but you take the good with the bad & at least we can say that we had snow fall on us.
We got back to the cabin around 3:30ish & stoked up the fire to prepare for a night of NCIS & master chef watching. Kath & Nae went & returned our snow boots while I & Belinda chilled.
It was a great day, something none of us who will never forget.

Beechworth, Victoria, Australia macphails... of the world, (no offence meant to anyone we know who actually does own a BMW - just our way of communicating personality types) but I suppose we are all different - makes it - interesting anyway!! Woke on our final day to the sound of rain drops on the roof. A good time to set off. Drove in absolutely pouring rain (the first of the trip since we left Melbourne) to visit our friends in Cootamunda, Tony & Lorraine Naughton, ex-neighbours from Mt Keira.
Bright, Victoria, Australia madnomads... up to The Horn which is a rocky peak (standing at 1723m - 500m shorter than Mt Kosciuszko) that offered 360 degree views of the Australian Alps and after a quick twelve minute walk it was breathtaking. Never before have we stood alone and witnessed a more spectacular view. If you are ever in Victoria you must visit Mt Buffalo and visit The Horn. Well, that's it for this blog, next stop Milawa, home of the Brown Brothers winery. Bye for now.
Mount Beauty, Victoria, Australia alessa... in America. It is 15 hours on the aeroplane! When we get to America we stay in a hotel for the day and SLEEP! Then at midnight we get on the aeroplane to Costa Rica. Grandad will pick us up at the airport and drive us to his house up in the mountains. Granny and Uncle Dan will arrive from England on the same day. I am very excited. It will be a lot of fun.
Bright, Victoria, Australia alessa... a fortified wine which I couldn't quite face early in the morning. Next stop the lovely town of Yarrawonga on the border of NSW & Victoria and Lake Mulwala, which was dammed from the Murray River in the 1930's. The name "Yarrawonga" is thought to be derived from an Aboriginal word meaning place where the Wonga pigeon rested, or water running over rock. "Mulwala" means big lagoon or big back water. The whole area is a golfer's paradise and you can play ...
