      ... we will leave snow behind us tomorrow. We are ready to hit the road again. Take off time should be around 9:00, we are packing a lunch from Frettas Italian Food Specialties, an authentic Salumeria now operated by fourth generation, Joseph. His ancestors established Frettas in 1906 in Little Italy, New York. As I said lots of history.

      It is 1 degree today, we have just gone over 1000 km. many more to go!

      ... continued on just a short ways to Silverthread Falls. This waterfall is about 80 feet high and very thin, plunging down in two tiers through a narrow crack in the shale. After we got some pictures, we started making our way back. Climbing the stairs to the top of Dingmans Falls was the most difficult part and once back on the unofficial trail, the going was pretty easy.       ... the lake ......ate hamburgers, Old Bay fries, and had 2 beers.........and left 4 hours later! Had a lot of fun there, ran into Chuckles, and Wet Dog there. I have not seen Wet Dog since Fontana Village. .....loooong time ago . It was told that Jess is off the trail, Voo-Doo might be off the trail, Sleeper is off the trail........a lot of the people seem to have dropped off :( . Hopefully that is not all true. I will try to contact those hikers and see if it is true. ...
