Later we went in search of dinner and found the best gnocchi ever in Calle di Val D'elsa. Chris has made the exciting (for him, at least) discovery that he can eat the bread and pasta here. Definitely makes it easier to find a meal though! Are there no gluten-free people in Italy, or is their flour etc different?

... by the owner's teenage daughter, who probably did very well in English class in high school. Finally we'd arrived, and the place is just beautiful. It's really a subdivided apartment, but we have a private bath and a shared kitchen with washing machine, as well as a beautiful terrace and absolutely gorgeous hills. We wandered down to a little Osteria for dinner, which was quite tasty, and now, once again, it is very much time for bed. Tomorrow, we do Siena properly. ...

... it out of the city with nary a wrong turn (thanks to some stellar navigating) and were on the Autostrade. There, we did miss an exit, but after a little back-peddling, we were back on track. Before long, we were out of the city and into the magnificent countryside of Tuscany. It is breathtaking.
