... s lined up for miles. Thanks to a few impatient travelers who turned around and went to the next border crossing, it started moving. 2+ hours later and a few games of 'dice' with Chad, we are in the states. Come through the first town to find cows in the middle of it just hanging out. I must have found that funny (over tired?) cause I couldn't stop laughing. Lots more cows on the side of the highway as well. Really funny to see them not fenced in. The Montana highway was crazy! ...
... for a day or two with more visits from various family members. We then made the 10 hour drive to Portland, Oregon to visit my sister Heather and her 4 kids. Busy bodies the were Jay-T being 3, Faith 4 almost 5, and the older two, Tyara 14, and Tuyen nearing 17! We had fun making dinner and painting pumpkins. ... to say, a few minor problems in Billings, MT but limped in, tinkered all good.....then a few more problems as we got into Great Falls, MT also....but still manageable - but by the time we got to St. Mary (Park entrance) the bike charging system had had enough and wouldn't play the game......More tinkering, fiddling and some luck from the bike gods meant she started ..... but I needed to keep the RPM about 2000 and above or the bike would stall and die..... and we ...
... switch backed across the deep valleys in between the hills of the Plains. Almost suddenly, I found myself side by side with those peaks. It was as if the valleys floated me to their side. The road continued, except now I was traveling through mountains rather than hills. Finally I caught a glimpse of St. Mary’s Lake. I came around a curve, looking over the massive water valley obscured by a towering mountain, when, as the curve continued, opened up into a water filled valley guarded ...
... It didn’t work. Luckily my iPod Touch connected so I could send a quick facebook message letting everyone know I had arrived safely.
I finally crashed into bed at 9pm and slept like a dead person, for about 5 hours. I woke up at 3:30am and could not go back to sleep. I eventually drifted off again at about 6am and slept through to 9am.
