... pictures just weren't good. We actually has some pretty good views ourselves, it is just that my camera won't give the true picture.  We decided to stop early today for two reasons...one, we didn't want to head on to west Glacier and try to find a camping spot late in the day and (two) also because I had yet to get my nails done and (you ladies understand this) I was on my last nerve with how my nails were looking. At any rate we stopped in at one campground that ...

... a really funny Sienfield episode that mimics this scenario). We stopped at the oldest Chalet in town for a cocktail then went back to camp and cooked up Bratwurst. It's been really smoky here from the fires. It is really bad this evening. Tomorrow we take the trip on the Red Bus Tour up the Going to the Sun road again. We start off our trip at 8:30 am and in true McInnes fashion, we forgot the air mattresses for the kids. So poor Chad makes a slight detour and meets up with us at his Mom's. Get the girls, dog and hamster (thank you Cheryl!!) settled in and we bail! The drive is fairly calm until just south of Calgary where we get some good clouds and rain. Even with the weather we are making good time and the GPS says we should arrive at 6:16 pm. Too bad the GPS couldn't predict the border ...

We started our day early, we are going to drive to Glacier National Park. It is a 1 1/2 hour drive from our campground (one-way) so it will be a long day. Again the scenery along the drive is very nice. We drive up the west side of Flathead Lake, then head north to West Glacier, where we will enter the park. Before we get to the park we stop at a store that sells huckleberry shakes, Manuel is dying to try one. OMG they are delicious! I didn't get one because they use a very ...

Great nights sleep and a lovely blue sky to greet us this morning at Flathead Lake. Plans for a morning swim disappeared as we decided to get up and go early and head for Hungry Horse, best place in the world for huckleberries according to Krista Wendle, our Montana expert friend...So by about 10am we were sitting in "The Huckleberry Patch" in Hungry Horse with a plateful of huckleberry pancakes each...just great! We managed ...
