I'm afraid that nothing bloggable has happened in the last week.

We've been sitting on a very robust mooring buoy in sunny Sarasota Florida. We don't even have to worry about dragging our anchor. And we've been shopping like mad - true to the Jackson family motto "Spend Spend Spend!" It looks like they've been doing a bit of the same in New York - as they should! We've ordered an anchor, and a ...

      ... Fort Myers before dark.

At 1.00 pm on Sunday, we duly presented ourselves at Border security, having left Nancy surrounded by vicious oysters in the mangroves, and caught a forty dollar taxi to the Airport.

And we thought we'd had a bad day on the ocean!

Then is it the Barefoot Tiki Bar or the Bridge Tender Tiki Bar? Or Martinis on the deck! Or by the pool? Or Margaritas? Then in for dinner or out for dinner? Who cooks? Which restaurant? Shave or not? Life with Rick and Ardeth this week has ...

      Sarasota and the "other" keys

... over to the pier. We walked the length of the pier (in the rain). I imagine it to be a very lovely spot on a sunny day. The next stop was Siesta Beach. Same deal here, more rain. We walked a bit on the beach. This beach has been named # 1 in the country in the past and I can see why. The final stop on the keys was Lido Beach. Another pretty spot, we were able to walk a bit ...

      While we waited...fun with friends!

Now that we're preparing to leave I want to catch up on our time here on Longboat Key.

We have enjoyed two wonderful months seeing friends and family! We've walked miles of beach and consumed way too much good food and wine!

We've tried some new restaurants and some old favorites. I'm going to have to get back to basic cooking once we return to Europe. Fortunately I've kept our daily ...
