Today we traveled to Khao Sok National Park and will be staying in a treehouse in the jungle. Everywhere we look, there is a magnificent view to take in. I have to say, our resort is pretty cool. They don't have a pool but there is a swimming hole in the river. Our bathroom has a waterfall for a shower... the water is brisk but we have a waterfall in our bathroom!! While walking around the little village ...

The crossing with the motorbike was pretty funny, just drive it on the boat with a wooden plank on the floor. They gave her oxygen and laid her down across the seats. After what seemed an eternity she came round. ...

... the two seats at the back usually set aside for luggage, so a new conundrum arose. The driver expressed his exasperation that tourists actually HAVE bags. After much debate he came up with the solution - fill all the space between seats and on top of passengers with bags. No problem. It was a two hour (ish) drive. I slept the whole way. We arrived in Khao Sok and checked into the little hut we had booked. It was on stilts with short staircase up to it. Gen thought ...

... private property and so I needed to find a new route. The path was overgrown at first and I was a little nervous about encountering a snake but it soon improved and was definitely going to be my best route to the beach. I had lunch and spent a few hours on the beach and then, in the late afternoon, set off for the market at Bang Niang.

I thought I’d walk along the road. This turned out not to be something I would want to do frequently. There was a lot ...
