    20th May - We arrive in Khao Sok after a bearable 3 hour journey. We really wanted to stay in a tree house but they are triple the price of a jungle hut. The huts are really nice, even if they don't have the air conditioning and pool that we have become accustomed to! Straight away we book our lake tour of the national park, where you stay in floating bungalows and do jungle treks during the day. It's is quite expensive at 2500 baht each (£50), but it includes all of ...

    ... 8220;Smart” - that he certainly wasn’t. It was hot in the hall despite us having the benefit of a large fan and by the time the last group of children had gathered both they and we were starting to flag and we were all quite glad to hear the bell for the end of school.

    I had a quiet evening. I treated myself to a hot pan fish at Red Chilli Restaurant and then enjoyed what felt like a well earned couple of beers at Tarzan Bar.

    ... Sheila and Sue’s capacity for beer is greater than mine. I stayed the course however, but ducked out of their arrangements to meet at Song’s Bar at the market on Saturday afternoon, which sounded like it would be another boozy affair.

    I had a lovely Saturday as usual. Rice soup for breakfast, an hour by the pool, coffee, a stroll to the beach, lunch at Green Beach Cafe, a couple of hours reading on the beach, back home for a shower and then a walk ...

    Cruise day on the beach Few gin and tonics with mich ash and Lisa and then ...what an elephant on the beach !! Bride going to her wedding on an elephant ...grab our drinks and head to the beach ...she's already there but so is the elephant ...very cool So we go to this bar which was once a resort before the tsunami ...and its a derelict place ...but strange ...
