The sounds of this country will forever be with me they are indeed infectious.

For all you Redlands folks out there get ready for this one. Before I flew here I updated my Facebook status to say I was off to Ghana. About a week into the trip I got a message from Lacey Baldiviez also a Redlands grad, saying she too was going to be in Ghana ...
Akwidaa, Ghana, Ghana sherrypace... he brought my perfectly repaired flip flop and my new top. He was wearing a new shirt today so that was nice. He told me he wants to make me one like the shirt he was wearing that day and how he wants to meet my family and make a shirt for my mom too. What an angel. I told Ally this story over the phone and she wants a shirt too! So I guess he is going to be pretty busy if he does come to visit me. Moses is awesome too. He got to the ...
Akwidaa, Ghana travelingdiva... I was a bit scared. I really enjoyed it but I don't think I will make it again." We all laughed. Poor Ansah. The canopy was such a cool experience. It gives you a perspective to view the rain forest you would only see as a bird and things look a bit different from above the trees. We also went on a nature walk through the rain forest which was pretty interesting although the guide wasn't the greatest. He seemed to get confused when you interrupted him to ask ...
Akwidaa, Ghana travelingdiva... window in front of my face. The tro made its way very slowly and painfully along the bumpiest road ever - the road to the village and our lodge. We got home hours later than we had planned and still have work to do! Luckily our work never takes too long. In other news I am getting a cold. I wonder if I am the only person to get a cold while in Africa during the dry season as it seems quite ridiculous to me. Still, better than getting malaria!
Akwidaa, Ghana travelingdiva... and had a very long shower trying to get all the sand off my skin. Then we walked down the beach to get good sunset photos. Unfortunately the sun didn't cooperate with us so we returned for dinner. Agnus turned up, she was back at the lodge after only two days! I guess she missed us. It was really good to see her and we decided we should all go to Cape Coast on the weekend with her to meet up with her other friend Katherine. Should be a good girls trip!
Akwidaa, Ghana travelingdiva... nesting turtle! She was a green turtle, which are fairly rare, and we tried not to distract her as we watched in fascination. Moses went to get the guests so they could see her. We told everyone not to take pictures until she was done nesting but when she was done to go ahead. She got confused by all the flashes and couldn't find her way back to the water. Finally we told everyone to stop and she saw the ocean again and was on her way. It was a phenomenal experience!
Akwidaa, Ghana travelingdiva... healthcare, but this seemed to do it an injustice. We sat with the local leaders of the community for some time and asked them questions about their quality of living and about their lifestyle in general. They all seemed to be content and proud people, certainly not looking for pity or a handout. Later that day I joined Marc and his friends and we headed west to Axim. The first tro-tro from Cape Coast to Takoradi was comfortable (for a tro-tro) but the second one ...
Axim, Ghana amalawski... on the beach. Last night I had a lobster curry for 150,000 cedis (only $15) that was amazing. I was planning on staying only a couple days then heading up north to Mole National Park but now I think I'll stay here longer! We've met a couple people here who have been here for a week already and were only planning on staying 1-2 nights. This place just draws you in! Hope everyone is doing well. I'll send pictures from paradise soon.
