Ke'e beach is about a 15 minute drive from the hotel. It is also the trail head for Kalalau trail. It is a 2 mile hike to Hanakapi'ai beach. Truth be told we should have stopped here. However we went another 2 miles to Hanakapi'ai falls. It was a very strenuous hike for the second two miles. Most of the trail is rocks. There are also multiple streams to cross...balancing from one rock to another. We kept going ...

It had been a fantastic birthday but there was more to come. Our birthdays are never single day affairs. The following day we had a helicopter flight booked to see the island in all its glory. This was to celebrate both our birthdays, with Ness' birthday ...

... quiet water, lots of spinning since we didn't have any way to steer the tubes. Back to the ship for lunch and then an early exit from port and onward along the Na Pali coastline. Repacking our bags for the pick up this evening. I will post food pics on a later blog, though I didn't get the first 5 days until Lisa reminded ...

... today.

We drove to the end of the road to Ke'e Beach at the beginning of the Hanakapi'ai Trail.

Next we worked our way back to Tunnels Beach for the afternoon.

Back to HBR for quiet time and grilling chicken for dinner. Ray and Robbie were off to the Kaulea Lighthouse to see the sunset while the kids relaxed by the pool.
