The end of Mokihana

... less than a week left here. Back home after the good meal. Phil had written a poem about Mokihana, where we stay. This is the end of the timeshare for everyone. It is being managed by a very unsavory guy named Larry. We had a run in with him last year and now find that almost everyone has had problems with him.

Tired, old, creaky and leaky,
Mokihana is listing and sorrowfully needy.

This was my last full day on Kauai, and it sure was a full one! Brendan, Lance, and myself started the day by heading back to Hanalei Beach and the spot called Pine Trees. This was my favorite spot on Kauai even though it there are many that are much better. As I've said on numerous occasions, the waves were so good on this day! I wasn't able to catch a wave in, so I decided just to paddle in through the channel so I started paddling...and I kept paddling...and I kept paddling. After a couple of minutes of this, I realized that Travis and Jason ...

... the Pacific including Australia, Indonesia, and Southeast Asia. To be honest, the trip him and my best friend LJ took to Australia and Indonesia about ten years back has been my single biggest source of motivation for visiting those places. He is overflowing with knowledge to share about many of the places I hope to find myself over the next year! He is especially fond of Indonesia, of where he has ...

Kalalau Trail!!!!

... mud and slippery rocks. You would be wrong!!! We actually sped up even more, even breaking into a run on many parts of the return trip. We weren't sure how long it was going to rain and we wanted to make it past the stream at Hanakapai i' to avoid the specter of having to cross in a flash flood.

Thankfully we made it past the stream without incident but continued at our quickened pace. At times we were even shouting out the vulgar running cadence used ...
