Wilderness begins

... about an hour or two hike to base camp.

We spend 5 days in base camp and then on the fourth fifth and sixth of Aug we do our solo time. After that we spend a little over two days at base camp debriefing. We will be done then by 2 o'clock on Sunday the ninth. I will take Joe up to Montrose then and stay overnight there.

Think of me while I'm on my solo time. That all will be as it needs to be.

... town are very picturesque and the small town is quaint with many of the original store fronts from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. We head into the post office to mail those packages and we find out that they have a new computer system today and the lady is still learning it. ... pace, pretty challenged by the altitude increasing as well (I heard my ears pop!) We had a long lunch at the top to wait for everyone to summit and have a few dance parties before descending for a long time. The descent was absolutely stunning.
