    Summary

Drove 534 miles in a tad under 10 hours.

    Highlights

Pretty slim for the highlights reel on a drive this long. We got away around 11 am after enjoying the Cleveland IPA's just a little too much.

Luckily the weather was perfect and the road easy. Once we got out of town our iPhone map advised that had 346 miles on the same road, a record for the trip I believe.

... and take a walk in the forest. We see numerous conifer and deciduous trees mixed together

Lake Placid village is crowded with shops and people so we carefully drove through the crowded narrow streets. We stopped at Adirondack scenic railroad but the train wasn't back yet from its twice daily run. We had dinner at Smoke Signals which is a BBQ restaurant. It over looked Mirror Lake. The lake was beautiful with tall trees surrounding it. The meal was so-so. I am afraid my BBQ ribs are better. The service ...

We left Black Lake today and headed toward Vermont. We didn't make it.
We did, however, drive through the Adirondacks and somehow managed to drive into the bike portion of an Ironman race. No, I mean we drove into it! Imagine how those guys on bikes felt after swimming for 2.4 miles, then trying to ride their bikes for 112 miles, only ...

... away. What a beautiful drive through the Adirondacks region past mountains and gorges and rivers running along side the road. Very very beautiful scenery all along the way. We also passed Whiteface Mountain along our route which is very impressive.

We finally arrived in the village of Lake Placid where we strolled with Ozzi and enjoyed the many shops. A nice ice cream cone. What ...
