Forest Glen fun & games!

... DVD's.

The was also a lovely pool area again with a waterslide (which someone, whose name starts with M, used to impress a girl by plunging into the icy water on a cold winters night) - the girl said he was crazy! (but she laughed)

For the more mature, sophisticated grown ups, there's a hot spa, library and licensed cafe.

It is part of our family tradition that on trips away we play a friendly (we consider, sledging, tripping & ...

... airport outside and had a beer. Wasnt until after i had paid and they had charged my card i realised i paid almost 8 pound for a bloody pint! Anyway lesson was learnt and i also learnt that when you havent slept for around 24 hours having a pint in 30 degree weather was NOT a good idea! Anyways after taking some special power drink my bro gave me earlier and feeling like i was stoned from the lack of sleep, beer, wine on plane and then this power drink ...

Campervan Day 7: to Forest Glen

Having checked out of Treasure Island Holiday Park north of Surfers Paradise at 9.45am, we continue along the Gold Coast Highway towards the M1, taking us past Brisbane. To keep up to date with the progress of Cyclone Hamish we put the radio on and tuned in to one of the local stations. It is at this point we start to get very confused ... the presenter announced that it was 9.06am??? It wasn't until much later in the ...

Steve Irwins Autralia Zoo

... tourist attraction and he preaches the good of animals and conservation all through the place. You cant help falling for it in a good way. I spend my day visiting Koalas (adorable), Snakes, Elephants, Tigers, Emus, Turtles and the best of all Kangaroos. They are tame roos roaming free and you can buy roo food for 50cents. I grab a pack and spend ages sitting with them and feeding them out of my hand, its brilliant. I love it so much I buy more food and go back later. I ...

There was a little town...called Buderim

We were kindly put up for the weekend by Tony and Lorrenda who are friends of my old boss! Their house is gorgeous with 2 lounges, two balconies! they're right in the middle of the 'bush' and they said they have spotted a snake out there before!! Eek!! They were our tour guides for the weekend and kindly took us to all the surrounding towns: Montville ...

CRIKEY!!

... about them and then walked through a bit of the zoo where they just hang out. Here, again, you can walk up and stroke them and take photo's - it was brill. All the time, there are carers just hanging around, out of the way, just making sure the animals are OK. This is just so different from Shanghai zoo where no-one seemed to give a toss about whether the animals were being upset by the human visitors. We also saw our old friends the Asian Elephants again ...

Australia Zoo, Crickey!!!

... a section on snakes, and let me tell you, there are a lot of poisonous snakes in Australia, in fact out of 20 snakes, only 3 were not!!! We saw dingos, elephants, camels, tigers, weird looking birds, and tasmanian devils, a really lively one! The crocodlie show (in the "Crocoseum") was pretty neat, and they had birds flying around, and snakes, and of course a crocodile. It was cool watching it feed! (they did a good job with the zoo in ...

Last Day of Volunteering - Night 30

... nothing. Secondly, there were too many Koreans. Don't take me for a racist, I have nothing against the Korean people, it is just that most of us choose these opportunities to experience a variety of cultures and when 60 to 70 percent of the volunteers are all one nationality, that doesn't quite fit the expectations. That and most of the Koreans volunteers are doing it for the certificate which they tell me goes a long ...
