... Re:Start Mall had shops in multicoloured shipping containers and it was busy, especially at lunch time. It may not be what the locals prefer (or are used to) but we thought it was a good addition to the city and a new tourist attraction. We could see that the centre had been destroyed and it was strange to see so many abandoned buildings and historic buildings with their fronts missing. However, it's definitely not just a building site.
A civilised start to the day. Breaky and bubbles before 10am. It is cold and overcast today. The talk turns immediately to shaving of heads. I am trying to ignore it the best I can. The International Antarctic Centre is located near the airport and is part of an active Antarctic campus where many missions are organised and launched.
