We surfaced slowly (pardon the pun!) and headed up to the restaurant to have breakfast, a little late, but luckily just in time to get some food before it was all packed up! The cornettos were there again, brilliant - custard and chocolate filled are definitely a winner - I never thought the Italians would be able to trump a simple French croissant for breakfast! Meanwhile Emma was unfortunately limted to the GF bread and the spreads provided, although she was lucky ...

We headed back to the Dub….to find Lyn had left his window wide open! Ooops; that could have been nasty. Also he parked nose in by a huge Italian motorhome, so I had to go out into the road to guide him back out. Italian’s are not known for their patience in waiting, but somehow we got it done. ... the train stopped and started and they put the train on the ship. When the train got down to Calabria, it was put onto a barge to go across the water to Sicily. I remember waking up during the night and feeling as if I was on a cruise ship as we went across the water. It was an interesting and fun way to travel even if we didn't get a lot of sleep.

Looking forward to seeing what Adventures Tom has found for us to do in Sicily!

... by the horses, and one horse didn't want to cooperate, so it took a while for the race to start. When it finally did, it lasted less than a minute and the race was over. Quite a big deal over such a short race. Tomorrow we will be leaving Tuscany. I love this region with the gorgeous views and little hillside towns. ... felt it was too busy and dangerous, so we turned around. Back in Castiglione del Lago, we rode our bikes around the town and lake area. There were vey nice bike paths that were much more enjoyable. After waiting for the bike rental place to open back up from their "siesta", we headed to Montepulciano.
