One of the things we were keen to do was go and see the statue in person, although I was a little scared to go close to something so big and imposing, as it seemed that wherever you were in Maratea, the white statue was looming over you (and even glowing at night), so I suppose for our two days in Maratea, Christ was always with us...

... and moved into an apartment. But he works for her as he takes people out on the boat and he makes the breakfast. But that night they were having a bonfire at the beach, we didn't go but the rest of the hostel did so we tried to get to sleep before they came back. After a restless night sleep, we went back to the beach for a little bit before catching the train back to Rome. We weren't staying in Praja another night!

A day of Leisure at Lake Maggiore

Outside, we had about an hours free time to have a look around the gardens. They were indeed 'bella'. We saw some white peacocks & one of them had chicks - so cute!!

... I went for lasagne (only other choice was salmon). We got our tickets for the cable car - and this time they were only 4 seaters. I went in the cable car with 3 others who I normally sit with at dinner. So began the 40 minute ride up the mountain. A very confined space inside the cable car.
