Got up super early to drive from Rome to the port in Naples (a mafia controlled city) to catch our ferry to the wonderful island of Capri. A group of a few Australians, a handful of Americans and us managed to hire a small boat and captain it ourselves. It was cool. Cruising around the whole island at our own pace, taking a much needed refreshing dip in the 'green grotto' and checking out the massive houses on top of the huge cliffs around the island. It's quite an impressive island and ...

... a wee, paid for by 4 gelati...... Phew!

A Google search while we waited for the town to rise from her slumber, did not reveal any pistachio shops / wholesalers, but the bartender told us about a place near the church. We had a fabulous week at this peaceful retreat, which was so different from anything else we have ...

On beach in a bar watching Kathy have a massage while I have a beer. Had my massage, **** it hurt but feel good now. Ordered another beer. We are in Port Grimuad, South of France. Very pretty and very busy. Grimuad is next to St Tropez, where the rich and famous live and park their super yachts. Brad and Angeline with kids live in the hills behind us. Back to where we went after Croatia, we caught a over night boat to Bari, Italy and drove south ...

... br> We are all exhausted and have dinner at the hostel restaurant at Santa Fortunata. I am organised and give the kitchen a pizza base to make a pizza Margherita (basil, mozzarella and tomato in the colours of the Italian flag). That night I awake to BOOM the sound of extremely loud fireworks that lasted around half an hour. It sounded like bombs exploding. Fireworks go off nearly every night apparently. Perhaps to cover up the cupcakes ...
