Maratea, not to be confused with Matera (a difficult one for Mark), was a wonderful hilltop town that felt like an undiscovered Amalfi Coast, with its beautiful coloured houses, little artisan shops, cafes and amazing views. However what made this different was the white 22m high statue of Christ, the Redeemer that stood on the highest hill overlooking the various hamlets of Maratea.

... us that she in fact did not have a private room for any of the nights, her bad. She offered to drive us around to find another place, but she knew and we knew, that we wouldn't do that because accommodation in Praja was fairly expensive. So we agreed to take the 6 bed dorm.
