... should only take me 20 minutes if I actually knew the way. So, I hopped on a Vaporetto (water bus) and took a ride all the way up Grand Canal to a stop nearby my place, and miracle of miracles I was able to find my way home in just a few minutes. Maybe I will get the hang of this? (Don't be cocky Krista, this is how you die). Supper tonight was cheese and meat from a local grocer, with a nice bottle of white wine. Well, we are now finished our cruise. We disembarked yesterday morning at Venezia (Venice), after having 12 fabulous days on the Norwegian Spirit. We had a great cruise, covering about 3200 nautical miles (5900 Km). The weather was almost perfect, we met some great people, the staff and cruise director were amongst the best we've experienced, and we visited some fascinating ports. And we even won some money at the casino.

Our last entry was from Mykonos, ...

Everything is so big and grand, but you'd need a really wide lens to capture it all. By day its crowded as tour boats come in, at night its magical and much less crowded, with the buildings in the afternoon light very pretty indeed. We've seen some of the small back alleys with less people and ...

... pictures of the old cars they had on display. Eventually the receptionist finished showing dad how to work the car and all the other important things dad needed to know. We all got the bags into the car boot and looked at the car. It had a red licences plate it was a shiny silver and had a very small hood that looked like it was squashed in. It would be a average sized car in Australia but in Italy compared with there small cars ...

... for the day that had the lower portion of their doorway boarded up and some were even pumping out water from the interior. Also one solution the city had was to place raised portable platforms down the length of many of the crucial walkways of the city.

Despite the water, We enjoyed a fantastic two days in Venice. Really once it got into the afternoon, the water was not an issue anymore because it receded quickly. We got to see St. Mark's Square and Basilica, the ...
