    We needed to get to Zadar for 6am to catch the early morning ferry to Ancona. This meant a second attempt at sleeping all four if us in the van. This time George slept with Deb and I in the bed, with Ben in the hammock. Unfortunately we still had a terrible night's sleep, before getting up at five and trying not to wake the campsite up. Needless to say we were all a bit grotty, but cabins on the ferry meant we could relax ...

    Actually, we did the highs first. We drove to a town called Gubbio, inland from us (back towards Perugia really), where we tried out their "cable car". These consist of small cages, each containing a maximum of two people, that go up the side of the mountain to a basilica at the top.

    Fortunately the weather started out well, so despite the odd spot of rain, there was little or no wind, and jumpers were enough to keep us comfortable! ...

    ... The beach is a pebble beach, with some areas of sand, and beautiful clean clear water. Although the Adriatic seemed calm, there were periods where the wind picked up when we almost had waves! And though the sun shone almost constantly, the temperature never hit the heights that it had last year. By 4ish we decided that we'd had enough, and so drove home, for another dip in the pool, and a barbeque'd dinner. Lovely ...
