28th Sept - 1st October - Florence 1st - 3rd October - Cinque Terre/La Spezia Florence, Chianti and Tuscany - what a stunning area!!! We loved our time in this part of Italy. ... It never entered either of our heads to dress more respectable to go inside such an important place. I was wearing a short skirt and singlet but no legs or shoulders should be bared, I was gutted but had to laugh. It just meant we would have to spend another night in Rome and return again tomorrow. ... Salmon, which was delicious. Unfortunately as the sun was setting so too were the bugs.....on Maddy and Kate's salmon. I'm sure you could imagine how Kate was handling that situation!!

... in 1152. Apparently Galileo was baptised in this building. Our next stop was the impressive Cathedral (Duomo) which was completed in the 13th century and at the time was the largest in Europe. The interior has amazing art on the walls and a beautifully ornate ceiling which is constructed of wood and decorated in gold. The dome also has amazing artwork.
