    ... was completely awash with inches of water. I copped the bow wave of an oncoming car which hit me fully across the chest cycling top was covered with bits of leaves and assorted flotsam of the road!
    This first storm was soon over and things dried up but when the next storm came it went on for hours.

    After Rimini, I trained it to Cinque Terre (with a brief stop in Bologna). Cinque Terre is a collection of 5 small towns along the Italian coastline.     Could not have asked for a more beautiful, sunny day for our trip to Cinque Terre!

    ... helicopters all around. There had been a rock slide on the waterfront trail. An Australian family of four were injured. Two were air lifted out and two left in ambulances. This was the very trail we were to be walking on in the next 15 minutes. If we hadn't had a late start we would have been the ones walking on the trail at that time.
