Hello friends and family! Sorry I've been slack with my travel updates - I keep meaning to post on here but after spending days exploring different places, I spend nights doing nothing! Chris and I are in Pisa, Italy at the moment, staying in a really lovely apartment that we could easily live in! We actually have enough room to hang our washing to dry! It's close to the Square of Miracles (Piazza dei Miracoli) - the area where you can find the Leaning Tower ...

... to hike backwards to the first village, Riomaggiore. This hike was straight up the cliffs and then straight back down. At one point, we were hiking higher than a helicopter! By the time we made it to Monterosso, I was completely exhausted. Luckily, Monterosso is the ...

Our last night here and I realise I'll be sad to leave Monterosso but Firenze beckons! And who knows what delights it might ...

... the first night and a yummy mixed vegetable frittata the second night. Our first day in Lucca we enjoyed a lovely bike ride around the Lucca walls. Lucca is a small town surrounded by high defensive walls that are 500 years old and 4km in circumference. The walls are 10 meters high and about 15 meters thick, so we were able to ride on top of the walls. The ride revealed a picturesque views of both inside and outside of Lucca. Post mum's trip to Holland where she had ...

Another hot sunny day. Left Siena early ish, and drove the 25 or so miles to San Gimignano. Arrived about 10.00, and walked to main town/street area. Beautiful hill town, with cobbled streets and more medieval buildings. With more coffee and some Panforte to spur us on, we wandered all around. Plenty of coach tours amongst us tourists, must be hell inJuly/August. Decided to make the climb up the high tower in middle of town ...
