... and when we have consumed them we discover he has taken our panniers to our second floor front room. The view of the mountains is fantastic. He offers to wash our bike gear as well. The hotel is just above the town, and there is a stairway leading from the front gate to the main Piazza, where the main road passes through an archway under a clock tower. This is a very old town, quite large with houses arrange along crescent shaped terraced ...

We leave Spoleto late enough to buy one, but when we get to the lower town, we find all shops are closed on Monday morning! I'll have to do without the GPS for some days because we will be passing through more remote mountain towns and villages. We manage to escape Spoleto through a pedestrian underpass across ...

Well the ferry over was easy, even if getting on the boat was a chore.
there will be pics, I think I got sunrise over the Adriatic, as we arrived in Ancona at 7am. Got off the boat to be met by rain, and Italian roads don't like rain, very greasy.
Still headed out towards Rome, which meant going over the mountains, so if the weather dried up I was going to have more fun.
    We'll ...
