... path leading to pirates cave. After lunch he was determined to do this, I let him go and got comfy by the pool. He arrived back an hour or so later, extremely sweaty, mumbling something about 189 lung busting steps. He says the tread on the steps was double the normal size. So glad I didn't go. On the way to to the ferry we had planned to stop to see the other Nuraghic ruins that we didn't see the other day, These were supposed to be bigger and better, and they didn't disappoint. Sardinia is divine...it reminds me of so many different things. The landscape is very beautiful and predominately made up of 3 colours: amazing, crystal clear glorious azure blue water, grey rugged granite hills and mountains and muted green shrubs. That's pretty much Sardinia. The architecture here is very different from anything else we have seen around Italy. It has a very Mexican/Spanish feel about it. ...

This morning finds me sitting outdoors on the hotel terrace, looking out over the beautiful blue waters of an inlet across to the rugged hills of Sardinia. Not a cloud in the sky. A great place to sit and write yesterday's blog! We were up early at Livorno - had to be at the ferry station by 6.30am. The hotel was lovely, despite the blocked plumbing and the slight (!) flooding problem we had with morning showers. Reception called to ask if we had ...
