... Oh man. Yum. Small portions with the sauces they were cooked in, more bread to mop up the sauces, more wine to wash down the bread. Amazing. I think that was it. After that Katya was to take Andrias home but he started to grumble and winge. ahhhhh watermelon.... I remember he was cutting up slices of watermelon when we arrived, so this was his dish. So he served us watermelon, with seeds Ebony. ! ! Refreshing after the meats but had to squash it in. Katya ...

... got to try it cuz Margs wanted to make the pasta and she was having so much fun. About halfway through, the bottles of wine appeared and began to flow into the dishes but also into us. The wine, the fun, fkdelicious food and good company continued to flow right through the entire dinner and well into the night. OK Margaret, maybe we do need to get a pasta maker clamped to the kitchen counter. ...

... the Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Then I went to two museums, the Galleria dell 'Accademia and the Uffizi. Next, I went to to the Piazza della Signoria and finally to Il Latini, a popular restaurant for dinner.

'Accademia is known for having the statue David in the famous pose after he defeats Goliath. Seeing the real thing was pretty neat. The statue is quite large and the sculpture looks so true to proportion as in the head to body to limb ...

... in the left lane. There is no chance to settle in on a speed. It's a matter of constant maneuvering.

The GPS arrival time keeps getting pushed back. The more we drove, the later it said we would arrive. After driving for an hour, now it said that we would get to Florence by 6:30. Not good for morale.

What the map didn't tell us was that there was a mountain range to be scaled and descended between Venice and Florence. ...
