A real Italian experience
... hours to the north. We said goodbye to them there and having not seen any tourists apart from ourselves since Florence we were back on the tourist track again. Old Perugia is on the top of a hill, so we walked up and spent a pleasant Sunday afternoon in the the old city where there was lots of activity including a parade with marching girls and brass band and great views over the city. The next day we were back on the train heading for Rome.

The Sistine Chapel did not disappoint either, the
steep steps down to it had us wondering but once inside it is
..spectacular..
The colours, detail done by famous artists over the
years ..circa 1500 ..walls by Boticelli, Pinturicchio and Perugino etc ...
